August Still 2004

Busy times have come and gone since I last wrote.  Between summer vacation, writing, going to a workshop with famed yoga coach Wade Morissette and taking in a live Canadian Idol performance on Lionel Ritchie night, I don't know where the time has gone.  And speaking of summer, I am going by the calendar when I use the word because the weather hasn't been very tropical. It's almost like Mother Nature herself forgot to check the menu before ordering....

I'm now gearing up for fall (my favourite season) and all things that come with it.  Back to school, new backpacks for the kids, the smell of new shoes, the changing of the leaves, apple picking and Halloween!

August somewhere after 'before still' and before 'still' 2004

No more stair privilege!  Do you know what I am talking about?!?!?! You know, when you put something on the stairs to take up on your next trip. It's like an open promise.  If you put an item on the stairs you are visually promising to take it up the next time you walk by.  And if you don't, you lose your stair privilege and must earn it back.  No more stair privilege for you-and you know who you are!

August before still 2004

Thanks!

Thanks for the great holiday weather.  Thanks to the state trooper that chose to not give an innocent family of four on their way home from vacation, a speeding ticket. Thanks for not getting another crack in the windshield on our latest road trip (the nail in the tire again for the third time in as many months more than makes up for that).

August 8, 2004

An old friend was kind enough to send me down memory lane with this yearbook photo.  1979 was a good year.  I made the basketball team and was still winning the battle against really big hair (I would get up an hour earlier every morning to calm my mane).  Double click on the pic and see if you can find me.  One hint- I do not have the biggest hair in the group!

St. Stephen's Catholic School with the burgundy polyester sport's uniforms. I still remember them being itchy and a bit tight.  I always got stuck with the small size because I was 'so' skinny.  What I would give to have that problem now. That was the year that I practiced free throws (foul shots) every day for a month in preparation for the Knight's of Columbus Free Throw Competitions.  The practice paid off as I won all three rounds (and trophies) and was the Ontario Regional Free Throw Champ.  It was a very exciting time in my life:)
