Happy and proud to say that I survived both organizing (with partner Kimmie) and participating in the yoga workshop last weekend. How do you stay 'let's ease into our day' at the workshop? Why you don't! You just go right into a two hour power vinyasa flow yoga class! OUCH! But I will have those Madonna arms earlier than anticipated!

Lots to do! Lots to do! Like load pics from the weekend, get ready for the upcoming pilgrimage to the ocean BUT before I start getting ready for all of that I am heading to New York City! I'm leaving on a jet plane although I know when I'll be back again! Three full days of fun, fun, fun and maps and scary directions etc. Well, not really as I do have important cell phone numbers of friends in NYC that I will call whenever I get lost over the weekend-and it's gonna happen!

The main reason for my trip is a wedding. Not just any wedding! A great, outside the box, genuine, fun, crazy, exotic and happy event! That's what it's gonna be. It's kind of like a cooperative-the entire wedding production. Really, really cool! If I hadn't eloped myself, this would be the way to do it. What way? Well, I'll tell all about it upon my return!!!! And, as warned in my travel book, I will not wear my brand new 'I love NY' t-shirt until I get home!

Deep, cleansing breath in thru the nose and...out thru the nose. Shoulders down and away from the body. ZZZZZZZZ oops, sorry. Tired but excited! What? What's that you're asking? Why am I tired yet excited? WELL, tomorrow is the Yoga workshop with Wade! All the talking, planning, organizing, facilitating, photocopying, typing....looking for more 'ing' words.....:)

It's going to be a fabulous weekend!!!!!

BTW has anyone seen my hubby?

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was just swell!

Check out my favourites! There are some new people, places and things there that I find fun, interesting and out there (not necessarily in that order of course)

"The day after."

I survived turning "22." It was a great day.

Found an even better horoscope:

"You have an amazing influence over others, whether you try to achieve this or not. You have the skills-charm, intelligence and power of persuasion-to convince others. Most of you will use this for a higher purpose. Big issues (life and death) intrigue you. The year ahead is full of fresh starts and new beginnings."

Love it!

Had a great rest of my birthday yesterday. After ferrying kids around I  headed out to meet a friend and we wined and dined at a local Starbucks (thanks Max and Mark for the gift card) and opened great gifts-thanks Heather. The pedicure was great. I am wearing 'God Save the Queen' on my toes! Then headed home to turn back into a pumpkin after a brief 'princess period' and headed out to the other end of town, during rush hour, for my son to play soccer (44C with humidex) and they won! Came home and had more cake with hubby (home from airport) and Lance (as in Armstrong-what an awesome finish in yesterday's tour stage) and watched an old and funny Seinfeld episode!

I must remember, life is good-and precious!

"Risqué photos of women wearing yoga pants"

I have borrowed today's title from one of the search strings on my website!

Today I am 22 (I've been 21 for a long time).

It's my birthday, a day I share with the likes of Julius Caesar, Henry David Thoreau, George Washington, Milton Berle, Bill Cosby, Cheryl Ladd, Kristi Yamaguchi (there was a point when I wanted to be a figure skating star) and my personal favourite, Richard Simmons!

It's hot, hot, hot here and as I get older I find it more of a challenge not to melt under the bright lights of today's world (never mind the actual weather).

We've already enjoyed birthday cake over here (7:30 a.m.). No one will be here at dinner time so we enjoyed some yummy raspberry mouse cheesecake made by my live in chef (hubby) and opened some great gifts!

Every year I read and cut out my horoscope and save it until the next year to see if any of it 'came true.' I've been doing this forever (for at least 22 years) and this year's sounds great!

"If you have worked hard the past couple of years trying to maintain what you have and who you are, you should now be ready to turn whatever comes your way into a positive experience. Commitment can now be made, knowing you can and will follow through. Nothing will be too much trouble for you this year, so prepare to go full tilt into the future. Numbers are 12 (bdate), 22, 23, 26, 32, 38."

I'm off for a strawberries and crème pedicure today. Not entirely sure what's involved. I think I get to eat strawberries and crème or cream while strawberry crème or cream is scrubbed on my feet!

Love it!

July 6/05 already!

I can't believe that summer is in full swing. I'm not that's for sure! It's been a busy few weeks around the this bed & breakfast but I am happy to report that we have survived the wedding (daughter was flower girl), the ballet recital several hundred miles away the very next day, my writing workshop for my son's grade six class (thank you Rob for the lovely suggestions) and, finally, my son's graduation from grade 6! We are now full-fledged into summer activities with soccer ruling 4 out of 7 nights a week here and many daytime camps and tent sleep outs in the backyard. Can you say 's'more' while eating one. S'mores are a true indicator of summertime in the city and we enjoyed our first during the Canada Day weekend! I'm still having a hard time believing that there are people out there that don't know what a s'more is. ONLY a little piece of heaven on earth! Graham crackers with a fresh piece of plain Hershey's chocolate accompanied by a 'just been roasted' marshmallow. Yummy!

Not so yummy is the political and religious arena duking it out in the 'public ring'  over the same sex marriage issue. Unfortunately, some of my own experiences with the Catholic Church mirror what some of our MP's are going through right now. Judgment from the church during a time when comfort and support is needed. To me, the church is doing exactly what it tells its members not to do, it is judging others! Several politicians are no longer welcome or no longer feel welcome at church or have had restrictions placed on their participation at church due to the passing of the same sex marriage bill. This is sad, hypocritical and too bad.

Okay, let's end on a light note. I am officially starting to 'submit' some of my work again. I had taken a 'sabbatical' from submitting for lots of reasons including but not limited to - procrastination, fear of rejection, lack of discipline, too busy filing newspaper and magazine work and the list goes on. So, I'm out there, on the market and submitting just a teeny bit:) Please be kind!

Oh yeah, and don't forget to watch the Tour! I'm glued to the highlights every night! Live Strong!
